This pig sanctuary houses 12 potbelly pigs and offers farm tours for all ages. The farm’s mission is to promote better care and understanding for these animals, and they do that by giving children a chance to interact with them, feed them, and learn about each animal’s unique personality. Brooks Farm Fall Fun Festival | Every Weekend Until October 26th | 9am — 4pm | $19.99
Brooks Farm is a one-of-a-kind family farm and fun centre that’s worth the drive to Mount Albert. The farm hosts its Fall Fun Festival every weekend from 9am to 4pm, starting September 6 until October 26. The farm also offers the Barnyard Playland during weekdays from 9am to 5pm for $15. Multicultural Festival | Sep 20th | 12:30pm — 4pm | Free
The Multicultural Festival at Aurora Town Square is a proud display of cultures from all over the world. The festival will feature Egyptian folk dances, a Chinese lion dance, and a Brazilian performance. From 12:30pm to 4pm the event will host children’s games and serve cultural food samples. Doors Open Aurora | Sep 21st | Free
During Doors Open Aurora, a number of Aurora’s unique heritage buildings will be accessible to the public. Your little ones can join a family-friendly collage workshop at the Aurora Cultural Centre or go behind the scenes at the Aurora Public Library. They can also get a glimpse of history by discovering the historical architecture of St. Anne’s School or meet the professional architect who designed the Aurora Town Square. The event is open from 10am to 4pm, with a long list of activities and destinations.
Intro to Ballroom Dance Classes | Sep 26th | Free
If your child is a dancer or is interested in becoming one, they’ll love this free Ballroom Dance introductory class at Aurora Town Square. The class is taught by world champion dancers and is a fun, encouraging environment open to all skill levels — ranging from simple rhythm and teamwork to partner dancing and dynamic movements. Check out the separate time slots for specific age ranges: ages three to four, ages five to eight, and ages nine to 14.
Markham Fair | Oct 2nd — 5th | Prices Range
Markham Fair is an extravagant fall fair and a destination for the whole York Region. With a farm park, petting zoo, midway roller coasters, and much more, Markham Fair is a must-see fall event. Children four and under are free, children ages five to 12 are $10, and adults are $26. The fair also offers a $65 family pass for two adults and up to three children. Aurora’s Haunted Forest | Oct 25th | 6pm — 9pm | $6
